Rug Pickup from Antioch to Silk & Shine Rug Spa
Area rugs from Antioch homes and apartments are picked up, washed at Silk & Shine Rug Spa, our in-plant rug cleaning facility, and brought back clean and dry. A rug on the floor can only be cleaned from the top. At the rug spa it can be dusted, washed through the foundation, rinsed and dried evenly, which is the only way to get out the grit and residue that settle at the base of the pile.

Rug Cleaning Prices
Our price book lists in-plant rug cleaning at $4 per square foot, with a $175 appointment minimum per visit. A few examples using common sizes:
- 5 x 8 rug (40 sq ft): $160, so the $175 minimum applies if it’s the only item
- 8 x 10 rug (80 sq ft): $320
- 9 x 12 rug (108 sq ft): $432
Two smaller rugs, or a rug plus a room or two of carpet at $75 per room, often make better use of the minimum. Fiber, construction, condition and any urine treatment can change the price. The Rugs We See Most from Antioch
Machine-made synthetic rugs. Polypropylene and polyester rugs are everywhere in Antioch living rooms, apartments and kids’ rooms. They’re tough, but they hold oily soil and food residue, and they often get a dull, flat look in traffic paths. A full wash and rinse brings back more of the color than surface cleaning can.
Rugs with pet accidents. This is one of the most common reasons Antioch customers call. Urine soaks through a rug into its foundation and often into the floor below. At the rug spa, urine-affected rugs can be flooded and flushed where appropriate, instead of being sprayed and covered up. Some dyes react to urine and the color change can’t be reversed by cleaning; we’ll point that out before the wash.
Wool, hand-knotted and Oriental rugs. Family pieces and handmade rugs get a fiber check and dye test first. Our technicians are Certified in Wool & Rayon/Viscose Textile Care, and cleaning solutions are selected for the material and used according to manufacturer directions.

What Happens After Pickup
- Inspection. We identify the fiber and construction, test the dyes and note stains, wear and pet damage. If anything changes the plan or the price, we contact you first.
- Dusting. Dry soil and grit are removed before water touches the rug.
- Washing. Pre-treatment and a wash method selected for the rug, with full washing and flushing where appropriate.
- Controlled drying. The rug dries evenly at the facility, away from your floors.
- Return delivery. Fringe and pile are groomed, then the rug is rolled, wrapped and brought back to your home.
Rug or Wall-to-Wall Carpet?

We can clean some rugs on site, but in-home cleaning is more limited because the rug can’t be fully dusted, flushed and dried the way it can at the facility. For urine, heavy soil or wool and handmade rugs, we recommend the rug spa.
Often, yes. Flushing at the rug spa usually reduces the odor a great deal. If the backing has broken down or the dyes have already changed, we’ll tell you before you pay for cleaning.
A rough size helps with a quote. We measure at the facility and confirm the price before cleaning.
