Pet Urine Treatment for Antioch Homes and Rentals

When a dog or cat has been using the same corner of a carpet, the smell is coming from below the surface: the carpet backing, the pad, and sometimes the subfloor. Deep Steam Floor Care & Restoration treats pet urine in carpet, rugs and upholstery across Antioch by finding where the urine went, treating it with enzyme or specialty chemistry, and extracting it with our truck-mounted equipment.

We can’t honestly promise complete odor removal before we’ve looked, and nobody else can either. What we can do is inspect, tell you what to expect and what it will cost, and then do the work. Call or text (615) 482-5590 or book online.

Carpet with dark pet urine spots before treatment

Why Odor Comes Back After You Clean It

Most Antioch customers who call us have already tried a rental machine or a spray. The spot looked better, then a few days later, or on the first humid day, the smell and sometimes the yellow ring came back. That’s because the liquid soaked into the pad, which holds it like a sponge. Surface cleaning adds water, the residue wicks back up as the carpet dries, and the odor returns.

Treating it means reaching the depth the urine reached, giving an enzyme treatment time to break down the residue, and then flushing and extracting from below the surface rather than just rinsing the top.

How a Pet Treatment Visit Works

  1. Free blacklight inspection. We walk the rooms with you, check the spots your pets favor, and use a UV light where it helps to show old, dried urine.
  2. Depth check. We look at whether urine stayed in the fibers or reached the backing, pad or subfloor.
  3. Enzyme or specialty treatment. Applied as deep as the urine went and left to dwell.
  4. Subsurface extraction. Affected areas are flushed and extracted from underneath, followed by hot water extraction of the room.
  5. Honest options for the pad. If a section of pad is saturated, we explain whether replacing that piece is the better fix before doing more.

The price depends on how many areas are affected and how deep they go, so pet treatment is quoted after the inspection. You hear the price before any work starts. Standard carpet cleaning is $75 per room in our price book, with a $175 appointment minimum per visit.

Move-Outs, Turnovers and Deposits

Antioch has a lot of rental housing, and many of our pet jobs here are tied to a move-out or a turnover. A few things worth knowing:

  • Book a few days ahead of your key date. Carpet usually dries in about 4 to 8 hours, but heavily treated areas can take longer.
  • We can’t speak for your landlord, but you’ll get a receipt showing pet treatment and cleaning were done.
  • Property managers: if a unit’s pad is saturated, our carpet installation and repair team can replace that section and re-stretch the carpet, which is usually cheaper than replacing a whole room.
  • Rugs and couches count too. Rugs with urine are best washed whole at Silk & Shine Rug Spa (see area rug cleaning in Antioch), and cushions get enzyme treatment with a fabric-appropriate method (see upholstery cleaning in Antioch).

Until We Get There

Blot fresh accidents with plain white towels and cool water. Skip steam, heat and ammonia-based cleaners on fresh urine: heat can set the stain and odor, and ammonia smells like urine to pets. Our main pet treatment and odor control page goes into more detail.

Pet Urine & Odor Removal in Antioch: FAQs

Common questions from Antioch customers. Call or text (615) 482-5590 if yours isn’t here.

Yes. The inspection decides the treatment and the price, and you hear both before we start.

No one can honestly promise that before inspecting. In most homes the odor is greatly reduced and most of it removed. If the pad or subfloor is too far gone for cleaning alone, we tell you first.

Many lighten a lot or come out. Old, repeated accidents can leave yellow or faded spots even after the odor is handled, because urine can change the dye.

We can deep clean hard floors, but urine that has soaked into wood can’t be cleaned out. We’ll check and tell you what’s realistic.

Pets return to areas that still smell like urine, so treating the source can help discourage repeat accidents. It isn’t a substitute for training.
